Allow personalized content filtering planned
There's probably not one singl person in this community who wants to see EVERYTHING that flows through here on a daily basis. It would be great if people could set their personal preferences via tags and keywords, so only relevant links would show up in their personalized content stream.

Have people leave a comment when they down vote
Users who downvote should be requested to leave a comment so that the poster understands why and to discourage people from just doing systematic down votes.

Let users earn points
Users should be able to earn points for doing things around the site (votes, comments, etc). Maybe these points could be used to win things like t-shirts, books, etc.

Add a tag for Android
We have tags for Microsoft and all of their various languages and platforms. We don't have any tagging whatsoever for Google, or Android, a platform. A little bias?

Visual separation of new items since last visit
Is it possible to add a visual separation between items that were there when I last logged in and new items? a simple thin line would suffice.

Limit number of links a user can post in one hour
there are regular batch update from users that posts 10 to 20 links in one shot. it obfuscates other links in the new links zone.
limit the number of post from a user in one hour to one or two.
dzone is not google news.

create a filtered RSS feed for the mini feed in your profile

Allow (empty) accounts to be deleted

Let people turn off screenshot thumbnails
I personally like the thumbnails, but I won't be surprised if there are lots of DZone regulars who might prefer to turn them off, or at least the large ones that appear when you hover the small ones.

Add a frame on destination pages for voting
There should be a frame on top of the destination links that let me vote or comment easily. I often forget to come back and vote.

Keep the "popular" tab open/active when clicking links
When clicking links from the "popular" tab, in the home screen, you instantly return to the "rising links" tab as your active tab. Keep the "popular" link open, when you open new items from that tab.
